Best Practices for Using Slack

  1. Be sure to open Slack every morning as a part of your routine. We receive calls for your customers every day - not just the day of the sale.
  2. Acknowledge communication as soon as possible to let your team, and the AVC team know you are working on the request. This will keep your team from duplicating the effort, and the AVC Team will be able to communicate an ETA to the customer.
  3. Keep communication contained in the Auction's slack channel. This insures that everyone is updated, and because Slack is searchable, makes it easier to locate past conversations.
  4. Be aware of whether you are sending a request to one person, or to the auction channel. While Slack gives you the ability to direct message an individual, this may delay your response if that single person is unavailable.
